Parr (1893 - 1969) Untitled
For most of his life, Parr lived on the land. However, after a serious hunting accident he settled permanently in Kinngait in 1961, where he began drawing at age 68. During his career, Parr produced over 2000 drawings and contributed 34 prints to the Cape Dorset annual print collections. His drawings are direct and honest, and his designs of animals and hunters are drawn in a distinctive, bold style, and portray a disappearing way of life.
