A Terrible Beauty documents Jennifer Angus' series of three site-specific installations created between 2005 and 2008. The artist references the complexities of historical Victorian European ornament and its relationship to nature; she constructs her obsessive patterns by pinning tropical insects to the gallery walls, challenging viewers' notions of attraction and repulsion, comfort and discomfort. Essays by Eve-Lyne Beaudry, Sarah Quinton, and Gaetane Verna.
